Thyme Tea

The name Thyme is applied to various herbs in the Caribbean. Twigs Naturals Thyme Tea is made from a selection of leaves from the plant known colloquially as Spanish Thyme.  Indian Borage, Mexican Mint or Cuban Oregano (Plectranthus amboinicus) are just some of the names it is known as. 

When dried the usually pungent aroma is tamed significantly to match the beautifully mellow flavour notes. Due to the presence of potent phenolics such as rosmarinic acid and caffeic acid, researchers have suggested that it has the potential to be used in nutraceuticals.
